Lux Glass installs curtain wall glazing across the GTA, with Toronto first and Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington and Vaughan close behind. We take on two kinds of work: complete curtain wall systems, where the aluminum framing and the glass go in together, and glass-only work, where we glaze openings or replace glass and insulated glass (IG) units in frames that are already standing. The work is commercial, for offices, retail units and buildings, and residential, for glass facades and tall window walls in homes. Owner and master glazier Bojan Stojic measures and installs every job himself. For ground-floor shopfronts, see our commercial storefront glass service.

Full system or glass only
Curtain wall work falls into two groups, and it helps to know which one yours is before the site measure.
- Complete system. A new opening, an addition or a re-clad, with the aluminum framing and the glass installed together by the same hands.
- Glass only. The framing is staying. We glaze it, or we take out broken, cracked or failed glass and IG units and put new ones into the existing frame.
A sound frame does not need to come out because one unit has failed, and replacing the unit leaves the rest of the facade untouched.
Replacing glass and IG units in an existing frame
An insulated glass unit is two or more panes sealed together as one piece. When the seal fails, the unit can fog or streak between the panes, out of reach of any cleaning. We replace outdated and failed IG units with new insulated units, and we replace single panes that have cracked or broken. At the site measure we check the frame, the stops or caps that hold the glass, and how each unit can be reached: from inside, from outside, or both.
If the frame itself is the problem, we will tell you at the measure, because a new unit in a failing frame is money spent twice.
Commercial curtain wall across the GTA
- Toronto. Tenant fit-outs on King Street West, Queen East and Yonge Street, office floors downtown, and loft spaces in Liberty Village. In Etobicoke, the Humber Bay tower cluster south of the Gardiner near Park Lawn, and the industrial-conversion lofts further inland in Etobicoke South.
- Mississauga. The Square One and Mississauga City Centre high-rise and commercial district, and the Erin Mills business park.
- Oakville. The Winston Park and Bronte Road business areas, commercial units along the QEW corridor, and tenant fit-outs on Kerr Street and Lakeshore West.
- Burlington. Brant Street, Lakeshore Road and the Plains Road corridor in Aldershot, with tenant fit-outs and ground-floor retail.
- Vaughan. The commercial neighbourhoods of Woodbridge, including the boutique commercial glass of Market Lane and Old Woodbridge.
On a commercial job the landlord or property manager is part of the team. Lux Glass is WSIB insured and carries $5,000,000 Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance, and we provide the certificates before work starts. If the same building needs new entrances, see our commercial aluminum doors in Toronto.
Window walls and glass facades in homes
On the residential side, curtain wall usually means a glass facade or a tall window wall: the back of a house opened up to the yard, a stair hall glazed from floor to ceiling, or a new addition with a wall of glass facing the ravine or the lake. In Toronto, rear additions in The Beaches face the lake, and designer-led renovations in Rosedale and Forest Hill reshape older houses. In Etobicoke, The Kingsway has rear additions opening onto deep landscaped lots. In Burlington, many mid-century brick homes in Roseland have been opened up with glass-walled rear additions. In Vaughan, Kleinburg custom estates come with oversized ceiling heights, and Woodbridge lots back onto the Humber River valley.
Residential window walls are usually one part of a wider build, so we work alongside your architect, designer or general contractor.
Tempered, laminated and where each belongs
We glaze with tempered safety glass made to CAN/CGSB-12.1, and with laminated glass where impact or wind matters. Tempered glass is strong and breaks into small blunt pieces. Laminated glass holds together on its interlayer when it cracks, so the opening stays closed until the unit is replaced. Exposure is the GTA-specific part of that choice: the lakefront towers at Humber Bay, where the higher floors catch wind off the lake, Burlington properties south of the QEW that face Lake Ontario, Bronte in Oakville, and Woodbridge properties backing onto the Humber River valley. The glass for each opening follows the approved drawings, and each specification sits on its own line in the written quote. See our FAQ on tempered versus laminated glass.
How a curtain wall job runs
We install curtain wall and window wall glazing; we do not design structural systems. Engineering comes from the project’s architect or engineer, engineer-stamped drawings are available upon request for an additional fee, and we build to the approved drawings. The person who measures the openings is the person on site at installation.
- Free on-site measure. Bojan looks at the openings, the existing frame if there is one, and how the glass will be brought in and set.
- Written quote. An itemized price in writing, with framing, glass, IG units, access and any after-hours work on separate lines.
- Template. Openings are measured as built once the surrounding structure is finished.
- Fabricate. Glass, IG units and framing are made to those measurements.
- Install. Framing set and glazed, or old units out and new ones in, then sealed and cleaned.
What drives the cost
There is no standard price for curtain wall, so we do not publish one. Each job is quoted in writing after a free on-site measure. The main drivers are the number and size of the openings, a complete system versus glass only, tempered or laminated glass, single panes or IG units, how the glass is reached, and whether the work has to happen after hours. Lux Glass has 18 years of experience, in business since 2008 and incorporated as Lux Glass Inc. in 2014, and every installation carries a 5-year warranty on labour and 5-year warranty on hardware.
Curtain wall glazing GTA FAQs
Can you replace one fogged IG unit without replacing the whole wall?
Yes. If the frame is sound, we replace only the failed units and leave the rest in place. At the free on-site measure we check the frame and how each unit can be reached, and the written quote lists each unit.
Do you install the aluminum framing as well, or only the glass?
Both. We install complete curtain wall systems, with the aluminum framing and the glass going in together, and we also do glass-only work in frames that are already in place.
Can you design the curtain wall and provide the engineering?
We install to the approved drawings; the design comes from the project’s architect or engineer. Engineer-stamped drawings are available upon request for an additional fee.
Should our curtain wall use tempered or laminated glass?
It depends on the opening and its exposure: tempered safety glass made to CAN/CGSB-12.1, or laminated glass where impact or wind matters, such as lakefront and valley locations. The approved drawings set the final specification.
What insurance do you provide to landlords and property managers?
Lux Glass is WSIB insured and carries $5,000,000 Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance. We provide the certificates before work starts.
How much does curtain wall glazing cost?
There is no standard price. Each job is quoted in writing after a free on-site measure, based on the openings, the glass, the framing, access and timing.
Which parts of the GTA do you cover?
Toronto first, including Etobicoke, then Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington and Vaughan. Lux Glass is based in Oakville, and Bojan Stojic travels to every site himself.
