Condo kitchens and estate kitchens in one city

Mirror or back-painted glass in a smaller kitchen
In a condo kitchen with no window of its own, mirror is tempting because it pushes light back into the room and makes a narrow space read wider. The catch is that a mirror shows every splash and water spot and reflects the clutter on the counter, so it suits tidy cooks. Back-painted glass in a light or mid-tone colour also brightens a small kitchen, hides more between wipes, and gives you a colour to build the room around.
Working with your designer in Lorne Park and Port Credit
Designer-led kitchens usually arrive with the stone, the cabinet finish and the paint colours already chosen, and we work to that selection. The glass colour is matched to the designer’s paint, low-iron glass keeps whites and pale greys true next to slab stone, and we template only after the slab countertops are set, so the glass follows the finished stone edge exactly rather than an early measurement.
Cutouts and cooktops
Outlets and switches are mapped on the template, and the openings are cut before tempering, because tempered glass cannot be worked once it is tempered. Behind the range or cooktop the panel is tempered safety glass, and we follow the clearances in the appliance and range hood installation instructions. Electrical changes have to be finished before we template, or a moved box will miss its cutout.
Joints on long and L-shaped runs
A long Mississauga kitchen wall can run past what a single panel can practically be, and an L-shaped layout always turns a corner. We break the run at inside corners, window edges or cabinet lines, so each joint reads as part of the design. All back-painted panels for the same wall are produced together, which keeps the colour consistent across every joint.

Can you install a glass backsplash in a Square One condo?
Yes. Condo kitchens around Square One and Mississauga City Centre are planned the same way as a house, with two extra steps: confirming the building’s rules for contractors and checking that every panel fits through the elevator and the suite door.
What will our property manager need from you?
Usually proof of insurance. We are WSIB insured and carry $5,000,000 in Commercial General Liability coverage, and we can send the documents before the install date. Let us know about elevator booking and quiet hours when you ask for the quote.
Do you work directly with kitchen designers?
Yes. Send us the designer’s paint colour, countertop selection and elevation drawing, and we will work to them. The final template is still taken on site once the countertops are installed, because the glass has to follow the real stone.
Will the glass colour look right next to a white quartz counter?
If the colour is white or very pale, use low-iron glass. Standard glass adds a green cast that shows against white quartz and white cabinets, and low-iron glass removes most of it. Judge the colour against the actual counter and a cabinet door before ordering.
Is mirror practical beside the sink?
It works, but it needs more attention. Water spots dry visibly on mirror, so wipe and dry it after heavy use. If you would rather not, a back-painted colour near the sink is more forgiving.
How do we look after the glass?
Clean it with warm water and mild dish soap or a glass cleaner, using a soft lint-free cloth, and dry it to prevent spots. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or steel wool.
What warranty do you give?
Every Lux Glass install carries a 5-year warranty on labour and 5-year warranty on hardware.
