Glass Installation in Beaty — Lux Glass Milton

Beaty is one of Milton’s most popular newer subdivisions, bordered by Derry Road to the north, Bronte Street South to the west, Main Street to the east, and the 401 corridor to the south. The neighbourhood is built around a central park system and community centre, and the housing stock is almost entirely detached family homes built between 2010 and the present. The major builders — Mattamy, Great Gulf, and local infill developers — have produced homes with open-concept main floors, second-storey bonus rooms, and primary ensuites designed for frameless shower enclosures. The glass needs of a Beaty homeowner are predictable: modern, clean showers and railings that fit the builder’s standard openings without surprises. Every install carries our 5-year workmanship warranty.

Lux Glass installs frameless shower enclosures, glass stair railings, custom mirrors, and glass backsplashes across Beaty. We are in Milton multiple times a week from our Oakville shop, and we know the standard floor plans of Beaty’s major builders. That knowledge means we can often quote a Beaty shower enclosure or stair railing without a site visit, using the builder’s published rough opening dimensions.

What we install in Beaty

Frameless shower enclosures. Beaty homes typically have a primary ensuite with a 48-to-60-inch walk-in shower opening and a second bathroom with a tub-shower combo. We install frameless pivot doors and inline sliding panels in 10mm or 12mm tempered glass. Because Beaty homes are newer, the rough openings are generally square and plumb, and our installs are straightforward. We offer single-panel pivot doors, two-panel inlines, and three-panel corner enclosures. Most Beaty homeowners choose standard clear tempered glass with brushed nickel or matte black hardware. For anyone who wants a clearer edge, we offer the Starphire low-iron upgrade. Our frameless shower cost FAQ walks through what goes into a typical quote.

Glass stair railings. Beaty’s open-concept floor plans typically have a staircase that runs from the main floor to the second storey, visible from the front entry and the great room. The builder-grade wood railing with pickets is functional but heavy-looking. Replacing the wood balusters with frameless glass panels is one of the most popular upgrades in Beaty. We install 12mm tempered glass panels with standoff hardware mounted into the stair stringer. The panels span between the newel posts, and each panel is cut to the exact distance between posts. A standard Beaty staircase with 12 to 14 balusters can be converted to glass in one day. Our stair railing options FAQ covers the configurations.

Custom mirrors. Beaty bathroom renovations and new vanity installations almost always include a wall-to-wall mirror. We cut mirrors to the exact width between walls, with outlet and sconce notches machined in our shop. We also install full-length mirrors in Beaty basement gyms and mirrored closet doors. All mirrors use copper-free silvering.

Glass backsplashes. Beaty’s open-concept kitchens are designed for a backsplash that runs the full length of the counter. Back-painted glass in a single continuous panel is a popular alternative to tile. We use 6mm tempered Starphire low-iron glass painted to any Benjamin Moore colour, installed with discreet Z-clips. No grout, no maintenance, one seamless surface.

Common glass projects in Beaty

Primary ensuite shower door upgrades. The builder-grade shower enclosure in a Beaty Mattamy or Great Gulf home is usually a framed sliding door with 6mm glass and a plastic bottom track. Homeowners typically replace this within two to five years of moving in. The upgrade to a frameless pivot door with 10mm or 12mm glass eliminates the track and transforms the look of the bathroom. We template the new door to the existing shower opening so there is no tile or curb modification needed. The job takes one day.

Stair railing conversions from pickets to glass. Beaty’s standard stair railing — wood handrail, wood newel posts, and painted metal or wood pickets — can be converted to frameless glass by removing the pickets and installing glass panels between the existing newel posts. We reuse the existing handrail and newel posts, which keeps the scope manageable. The glass panels sit in stainless channels at the bottom and are held by stainless clips at the newel posts.

Basement glass railing for walkout homes. Several of the newer Beaty homes on the south side of the subdivision have walkout basements with a patio door. We install glass railings on the walkout deck or patio using a base-shoe system with 12mm heat-soaked tempered glass.

Custom backsplash for kitchen renovations. Beaty homeowners renovating their builder-grade kitchen often add a glass backsplash as a statement piece. A single sheet of back-painted glass in a bold colour — deep navy, forest green, or matte black — becomes the focal point of the kitchen. We fabricate the panel to the exact wall dimensions, with cut-outs for outlets and switch plates.

What makes Lux Glass different in Beaty

Beaty is a production-home neighbourhood, and the homeowners here want a predictable experience: a fair price, a quick timeline, and clean results. We deliver that by knowing the product. Because we have installed in dozens of Beaty homes, we know the rough opening dimensions for the standard bathroom layouts in Mattamy’s Beaty models and Great Gulf’s Beaty designs. We can often quote over the phone or from photos, skipping the site visit and saving time.

We also offer a straightforward pricing model. There are no surprise fees for a two-person crew or for travel to Milton. The price we quote is the price you pay, with HST (13% in Ontario) shown as a separate line on the invoice. And because we fabricate our own glass in-house, we can turn a templated shower door around in seven to ten days instead of the three to four weeks that shops with outsourced fabrication need.
