Waterloo FAQs
Do you serve Carriage Crossing and Laurelwood for custom shower installations?
Yes. We frequently install custom frameless glass showers in Carriage Crossing, Laurelwood, and surrounding executive developments. We offer in-home consultations, bring physical glass and hardware finish samples, and coordinate directly with your renovation contractor or builder.
What is the difference between standard clear glass and Starphire low-iron glass for Waterloo homes?
Standard clear glass contains a natural iron content that gives the glass a subtle green tint, which becomes especially visible along the exposed polished edges or when viewed against white or light-coloured marble tiles. Starphire (low-iron) glass is specially manufactured to remove iron content, resulting in exceptional optical clarity and true colour transmission.
Can you install interior glass stair railings on open-riser staircases?
Yes. Open-riser staircases are a signature feature in Waterloo contemporary architecture. We design and install frameless glass railings using 12 mm tempered or 13.52 mm laminated safety glass, anchored to structural stringers using heavy-duty 316 stainless steel standoffs or concealed base shoes compliant with OBC 9.8.8 guard requirements.
How do you handle custom gym and vanity mirror installations?
We measure vanity walls and gym areas using high-precision digital laser tools, accounting for electrical outlets, wall sconces, switches, and slight wall bows. Mirrors are installed using structural mirror mastic adhesive and mechanical safety J-channels or decorative standoffs for secure adhesion.
What is the timeline from laser measurement to final installation in Waterloo?
Once tile work, curbs, and backing are 100% complete, we perform on-site digital laser templating. Custom glass fabrication typically takes 10 to 12 business days. Installation is completed in a single scheduled half-day appointment by our experienced glazier team.
What does your 5-year warranty cover?
Our 5-year warranty on labour and 5-year warranty on hardware covers hinge mechanical operation, seal integrity, hardware finish durability, and glass alignment. We do not use third-party subcontractors, meaning we stand behind our work directly.
Why Waterloo homeowners choose Lux Glass
Precision matters in modern glazing. A difference of just two millimeters can cause shower door drag, unsightly silicone beads, or premature hinge wear. Master glazier Bojan Stojic brings 18 years of hands-on structural glass experience to every installation, ensuring perfectly plumb lines, watertight seals, and hardware that operates smoothly for decades.
