Lux Glass designs and installs frameless glass pool fences for Mississauga homeowners, from lakefront estates in Lorne Park, Clarkson and Port Credit to family homes in Erin Mills and Streetsville. We work from Oakville, next door, and every enclosure is measured, quoted and installed by owner and master glazier Bojan Stojic. For decks, stairs and balconies, see our glass railings.

The system, in plain terms
- Glass: 12mm tempered safety glass to CAN/CGSB-12.1, in panels sized to your pool deck.
- Spigots: Duplex 2205 marine-grade stainless, the grade we use for pools and exteriors because splash water carries chlorine or salt.
- Frameless: the panels stand on the spigots with no frame around them, so from the house the fence reads as clear glass.
- Gate: a matching glass gate on self-closing, self-latching hardware.
That is the whole list. We keep the system short so that every part of it can be checked at the site measure and shown as its own line on the quote.
Mississauga backyards differ by neighbourhood
The work in Mississauga shifts more from one neighbourhood to the next than in almost any city we serve. In the south, Lorne Park, Port Credit, Clarkson and the Sheridan streets are lakefront and estate stock: 1960s and 70s houses that have been re-skinned or replaced outright, ravine and lake-adjacent lots, and a mature canopy overhead. A pool fence here is usually one piece of a larger rebuild, with a designer choosing the finishes and expecting the glass to match them.
In the middle of the city, Erin Mills, west of Mississauga Road, and the family streets around the historic village core of Streetsville were built mostly between the 1980s and the early 2000s. This is the family-renovation core, and a glass enclosure here may be replacing an older fence around an existing pool. Further north, newer subdivisions run up to the Brampton border.
What the City of Mississauga asks for
The key requirements of the City of Mississauga Swimming Pool Enclosure By-law 0191-2011 for a pool serving a house:
- A Certificate of Approval from the City for the enclosure; the pool cannot be filled until it is issued.
- Minimum height of 1.22 m (4 ft) above effective ground level (1.83 m for pools serving six or more units or a commercial property).
- No opening wider than 10 cm (4 in) between vertical members, and no gap over 10 cm under the enclosure.
- At least 1.22 m from climbable items such as air conditioners, trees, steps or ledges, unless the enclosure is 1.83 m high.
- Gates are self-closing, with self-latching hardware at the top and on the inside of the gate, hung on hinges rated for 91 kg; on double gates the second leaf gets a locked drop bar.
- A main entrance to the house cannot sit inside the enclosure.

The enclosure has to meet the City of Mississauga’s pool enclosure by-law, and the City issues a Certificate of Approval for the enclosure before the pool can be filled. The by-law covers both the enclosure and its gate. Our part is to build to the approved drawings. If your application calls for them, engineer-stamped drawings are available on request for an additional fee. Our article on pool gate hardware rules in Ontario explains what to ask about the gate before you apply.
Timing the fence with a pool or yard renovation
A pool fence is often ordered while something else is under way: a new pool, a new deck, or new stone around an existing pool. The best time to call is early, while the layout is still on paper. A free site measure at that stage lets us see where the gate wants to go and what the spigots will be anchored into, and it gives your pool builder or landscaper a chance to plan for both.
The template, though, waits until the deck surface is finished. Glass is cut to the yard as built, not to a drawing, and a panel cut to the wrong number cannot be trimmed on site. It is the same rule we follow indoors, where we never template a shower until the tile is set.
One person from measure to final adjustment
Lux Glass is owner-operated. Bojan Stojic, our master glazier, does the site measure, prepares the written quote, templates the run and installs the glass himself, with no subcontractors. Lux Glass has 18 years of experience: in business since 2008 and incorporated as Lux Glass Inc. in 2014. When the person who measured the fence is also the person who sets the gate hardware, nothing gets lost between the quote and the install. We are WSIB insured and carry Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance.
Pricing a Mississauga pool fence
Our frameless glass pool fences begin at $240 per linear foot. Where a Mississauga fence lands above that depends on the length of the run, the corners and changes in level, the gate, the surface the spigots are anchored into, and how the glass reaches the yard. The final price is quoted in writing after a free on-site measure, itemized so you can see what each part of the fence costs.
Mississauga pool fence FAQs
Do I need a City of Mississauga permit for a glass pool fence?
Yes. The City of Mississauga issues a Certificate of Approval for the pool enclosure under By-law 0191-2011, and the pool cannot be filled until it is issued. Check the requirements for your property with the City. We build to the approved drawings.
Is Lux Glass local to Mississauga?
We are based in Oakville, which borders Mississauga to the west, and we work across the city, from Lorne Park and Port Credit to Erin Mills and Streetsville.
We are building a new pool. When should we contact you?
As early as you can. A site measure during planning lets us confirm the gate position and the deck detail with your pool builder or landscaper. We template once the deck surface is finished.
Can a glass fence work on a ravine lot?
Yes. On the ravine and lake-adjacent lots of south Mississauga, keeping the view is usually the point of choosing glass. At the site measure we check how the deck and the grade run along the fence line and where the spigots can be anchored.
Will chlorine or salt damage the hardware?
Pool water is the reason we use Duplex 2205 marine-grade stainless spigots for pools and exteriors. That grade is chosen for chlorine and salt exposure.
How do we keep the glass clean around the pool?
Splash leaves water spots, and under mature trees the panels collect leaves and pollen like any outdoor surface. Rinse the glass with clean water and dry it with a soft cloth. Keep abrasive pads away from the glass and the spigots.
What warranty comes with the fence?
Every installation carries our 5-year warranty on labour and 5-year warranty on hardware.
