Frameless Shower Enclosures in Vaughan

Lux Glass builds frameless shower enclosures for Vaughan homeowners in Woodbridge, Kleinburg, and Maple — single doors, door-and-panel showers, corner and three-piece enclosures, neo-angle showers, walk-in screens, and steam-tight enclosures. Every panel is 10mm or 12mm tempered safety glass, hung on solid forged brass hinges and templated after your tile is set. Owner and master glazier Bojan Stojic measures and installs each shower himself, with no subcontractors. It is the Vaughan side of our frameless shower service.

Three-piece frameless corner shower by Lux Glass — frameless shower enclosures for Vaughan homes

What frameless means in a Vaughan ensuite

A frameless enclosure has no metal frame around the glass. The panels themselves are structural, 10mm or 12mm tempered glass fixed to the wall and floor with hinges and small clamps. Without a frame there are no tracks to trap water and soap, and nothing blocks the view of the tile, which matters in Woodbridge and Kleinburg ensuites finished in marble or porcelain. The trade-off is that the glass does all the work, so there is no frame to hide a wall that is out of plumb or a curb that slopes the wrong way. That is why every Vaughan enclosure is templated after the tile is finished.

Shower layouts we install

  • Single hinged door — one door mounted to the wall, sized and balanced to your opening.
  • Door and fixed panel — an inline door beside a fixed panel across a wider opening.
  • Corner and three-piece enclosures — a door with one or two return panels on a curbed or curbless base.
  • Neo-angle showers — an angled front that saves floor space in a corner.
  • Walk-in screens — a single fixed panel with an open entry, common on curbless showers.
  • Double-door walk-ins — paired doors across a large ensuite opening.
  • Steam enclosures — sealed to the ceiling with a transom; see our steam shower enclosures in Vaughan.

Vaughan neighbourhoods and the showers they ask for

  • Islington Woods and Pine Valley — large estate ensuites, often with double-door walk-in enclosures.
  • Sonoma Heights — primary ensuite retrofits, tub-to-shower conversions, and space-saving neo-angle showers.
  • Weston Downs — curbless walk-in showers with linear drains, and steam enclosures.
  • Vellore Village — frameless ensuite enclosures in modern multi-level homes.
  • Kleinburg — tall ceilings, curbless wet rooms, multi-panel enclosures along Islington Avenue Estates, and boutique showers in Kleinburg Village heritage renovations.
  • Maple — heritage homes, modern estates, and townhomes; see our Maple glass page.

10mm or 12mm glass

10mm tempered glass is the standard for most enclosures. It is stiff enough to hang as a door on two hinges and heavy enough to close with a solid feel. We move to 12mm for oversize panels, tall installations, and long spans where extra stiffness keeps the glass flat and quiet. In Kleinburg homes with ceilings well above builder standard, taller panels often call for 12mm with heavier hinges to match. All of our shower glass is tempered safety glass to CAN/CGSB-12.1, and every notch and hinge hole is cut before tempering, because tempered glass cannot be cut afterward.

Templating after tile, and working with your contractor

Curbless showers in Weston Downs and wet rooms in Kleinburg estates depend on work done before we arrive: the floor slope, the waterproofing, and solid blocking behind the tile where the hinges and clamps will land. We talk to your contractor or tile setter before tile goes up to confirm blocking locations and, on a curbed shower, that the curb slopes back into the shower so water does not run along the glass line. Then we template once the tile is finished. The panel that comes out of the tempering oven is the panel that goes on your wall, so the template has to be right the first time.

Hardware that carries the door

A 10mm glass door is heavy, and the whole load hangs on two hinges. We use solid forged brass hinges and clamps, finished to match your faucet and fixtures rather than fight them. Clear seals and sweeps close the gaps at the strike and the sill, and there is no metal track along the floor to collect grime. Hinges are anchored into solid blocking, never into tile with nothing behind it.

What a frameless shower costs in Vaughan

Frameless showers start from $38/sqft. A single shower door starts from $850, and a full enclosure starts from $1,600. The final price depends on the size and number of panels, 10mm or 12mm glass, notches around benches and niches, the hardware, and the height of the installation. The job runs in five steps: a site measure, a fixed written quote before HST, a template after tile, fabrication and tempering, and the install by Bojan, a master glazier with 18 years of experience. Every enclosure carries our 5-year warranty on labour and 5-year warranty on hardware.

Vaughan frameless shower FAQs

How much does a frameless shower cost in Vaughan?

Frameless showers start from $38/sqft. A single shower door starts from $850 and a full enclosure from $1,600. The final price is set by size, panel count, glass thickness, notches, and hardware, and you get it as a fixed written quote after the site measure.

Can you turn our Sonoma Heights tub into a walk-in shower with frameless glass?

Yes. The tub removal, plumbing, and tile are done first, and we coordinate blocking with whoever is doing that work before the tile goes up. Once the new shower is tiled, we template and install the glass.

Our Kleinburg ensuite has a very tall ceiling. Can the glass go floor to ceiling?

Yes. Taller panels move to 12mm tempered glass with heavier hinges, which keeps the glass flat and the door stable. We check the wall, floor, and ceiling structure at the site measure.

Do we need a curb, or can the shower be curbless?

Either works with frameless glass. A curbless shower needs the floor sloped to the drain and full waterproofing before tile, and a curbed shower needs the curb sloped back toward the drain. We confirm both with your contractor before tile goes up.

When should we call you during a renovation?

Before tile, so blocking can go where the hinges and clamps will land. The final template is taken after the tile is finished, because the glass is cut to the finished surfaces.

Can you build a steam shower enclosure?

Yes. A steam enclosure is sealed to the ceiling, usually with a transom above the door, and needs ceiling slope and waterproofing planned with your contractor before tile. We cover this in detail on our Vaughan steam shower page.

Is frameless shower glass safety glass?

Yes. Every panel is 10mm or 12mm tempered safety glass to CAN/CGSB-12.1. If tempered glass breaks, it crumbles into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards.

What warranty comes with a Vaughan shower?

Every enclosure carries our 5-year warranty on labour and 5-year warranty on hardware. Lux Glass is WSIB insured and carries $5,000,000 Commercial General Liability.
