Commercial Storefront Glass in Toronto

Lux Glass installs commercial storefront glass for Toronto retail, restaurants, and office lobbies — storefront systems, entrance doors, and vestibules, engineered to the Ontario Building Code and installed on your schedule. On busy Toronto streets we can phase the work across evenings and nights so the frontage is secured and the business opens on time. It is the Toronto side of our commercial storefront glass service.

Commercial glass storefront entrance by Lux Glass — storefront glass in Toronto

Storefront glazing, installed on your schedule

A retail or restaurant frontage on Queen, King, Bloor, or Yonge cannot sit open to the street for days. We plan the sequence around your opening date and the landlord’s rules — temporary hoarding where needed, phased night installs, and a secured frontage at the end of every shift.

What we install

  • Aluminum-framed storefront systems — the glazed frontage for retail units, restaurants, and lobbies.
  • Commercial entrance doors — swing or pivot, with commercial closers, mortise locks, and panic hardware to code.
  • Vestibules and wind lobbies — the double-door entries that cut drafts and heating loss on Toronto frontages.
  • Tempered and laminated safety glass — plus insulated units where thermal performance matters.

OBC compliance and engineering coordination

Commercial glazing has to satisfy the Ontario Building Code for safety glazing, guards, and egress. Engineer-stamped drawings are available upon request for an additional fee. We work with your architect or landlord so the frontage is properly documented for inspection.

Glass vestibules and entry lobbies in Toronto

A glass vestibule adds a second set of doors inside the main entrance, so cold air stays in the wind lobby instead of blowing across the sales floor or the lobby desk every time the door opens. On Toronto frontages that face the street all winter, it is one of the most effective upgrades for comfort and heating loss. We build vestibules and entry lobbies with tempered or laminated safety glass, aluminum framing and commercial entrance doors — swing or pivot, with commercial closers and panic hardware to code — and we coordinate the layout with your architect or landlord so egress and accessibility are documented for inspection.

Tenant fit-out coordination in Toronto

Most storefront work is one trade inside a larger fit-out. We coordinate with your general contractor, designer, and property manager on timing, hoarding, and access, and we schedule our glazing so it lands at the right point in the build rather than holding up the other trades.

Where we work in Toronto

We install across the city — Queen West and Queen East, King West, Bloor and Yorkville, Yonge, the Financial District, Leslieville and the east-end retail strips, and the downtown restaurant and lobby market. We are comfortable working on high-traffic frontages and heritage streetscapes. West of the Humber, see commercial storefront glass in Etobicoke.

How a Toronto commercial project runs

  1. Site review and templating. We measure the opening as built and confirm glass spec, framing, and any engineering or permit needs.
  2. Shop drawings and fabrication. Drawings issued, then framing and glass fabricated to suit.
  3. Phased installation. Installed to your schedule, including night and weekend work, with the frontage secured between shifts.

What drives the cost

Every storefront is quoted to the opening, not to a rate card. Cost is driven by the size of the frontage, the glass specification (tempered, laminated, or insulated units), the framing system, the doors and their hardware, any engineering and permit requirements, and how the install has to be phased or secured. After a site review you get a fixed, itemized written price — before HST. Every install carries a 5-year warranty on labour and 5-year warranty on hardware.

Toronto storefront FAQs

Do you carry commercial liability insurance and WSIB?

Yes. We are WSIB insured, carry $5,000,000 Commercial General Liability (CGL), and provide commercial liability and WSIB documentation for landlords, general contractors, and property managers before work begins.

Can the install run across multiple nights so we stay open?

Yes — phased night and weekend installs are a normal way for us to work on occupied Toronto frontages. We secure the opening at the end of each shift so the unit is not left exposed overnight.

Can you provide P.Eng-stamped drawings when the permit needs them?

Yes — on request, for an additional fee. We work with your architect or landlord so the glazing is approved and inspected cleanly.
