Full-wall mirror for basement, garage and studio gyms.
Lux Glass installs gym mirrors in Toronto condos, houses and studios: spare-room gyms in Liberty Village and Leslieville towers, basement gyms in The Annex, Rosedale, Forest Hill and the Beaches, and studio walls for owners on King Street West, Queen East and Yonge Street. Each wall is 6 mm mirror with safety backing, sized to the elevator, the stair or the door it has to pass through.

Downtown Toronto condo rooms are often short on wall. A spare bedroom or den turned into a gym may not have one clear wall from corner to corner, so a single run beside the rack usually does more than trying to mirror everything. We look at where you lift, stretch or ride, then size the run to that spot. A long wall is still built from several panels butted together, with flat polished meeting edges and only a hairline between them.
Many Liberty Village buildings have poured concrete interior walls rather than drywall over studs. The J channel that carries the mirror's weight then needs anchoring hardware suited to concrete, and the install takes longer, so we confirm the wall type at the site measure. Condo buildings also have their own rules. Freight-elevator time is booked ahead, common-area corridors are protected with floor runners and wall padding, and on narrow streets the loading permit is part of the plan. If the property manager asks for insurance, Lux Glass is WSIB insured and carries $5,000,000 Commercial General Liability.
Toronto's older houses bring a different set of problems. In Victorian semis in The Annex and pre-war homes in Rosedale and Forest Hill, original walls are rarely plumb, and a 6 mm panel copies whatever it is bedded onto. We check the run for flatness first and fur or pack the wall where a bowed stud or a proud joint would put a waver in the reflection. In family homes in the Beaches and elsewhere, a basement gym's stair and doorways decide the panel size more than the wall does.
Weight sets the limits. A 4 by 6 foot sheet of 6 mm mirror is roughly 75 pounds, a 5 by 8 closer to 125, and neither bends around a stair landing or tilts into a short elevator cab. We measure the elevator, the suite door and the hallway turns along with the wall, then lay out panels that fit. Seam positions are set before cutting, so a seam can sit beside a rack upright rather than across your line of sight.

Explore →For fitness, yoga and dance studios on King Street West, Queen East and Yonge Street, and in Liberty Village loft spaces, the build is the same 6 mm mirror with safety backing and polished edges. Height follows the classes: weight rooms usually start the mirror 16 to 20 inches off the floor to clear equipment and dropped plates, while yoga and Pilates rooms go lower. Installs can be scheduled around classes, including off-hours.
Peel-and-stick mirror tiles are usually thin acrylic in 8-inch squares; they flex over any wall that is not dead flat and break the reflection into a grid. Acrylic sheet is lighter and will not shatter, but it bows on larger panels and absorbs moisture, so the reflection moves over time. Gym mirror glass stays annealed rather than tempered, because tempering leaves a wavy distortion, and a vinyl safety backing bonded across the back holds the pieces together if a panel cracks.
Gym mirrors start from $28/sqft. Area sets the base; panel count, cutouts for outlets and switches, edge work, copper-free mirror for damp basements, wall preparation, concrete anchoring and building logistics move it from there. Usually less than you think. Downtown condo rooms are often short on wall, so a single run beside the rack or the bike does more than mirroring every surface. We look at where you train and size the run to that spot.
Yes. Many Liberty Village buildings have poured concrete interior walls instead of drywall over studs, which calls for different anchoring hardware and a longer install. We confirm the wall type at the site measure and plan the fixing to suit it.
They are sized to. We measure the elevator, the suite door and the hallway turns along with the wall, then lay out panels that fit through every one of them. A long wall simply gets more panels with hairline seams.
Many Toronto condo buildings ask for one. Lux Glass is WSIB insured and carries $5,000,000 Commercial General Liability, and we provide the certificates the property manager requests before work starts.
Yes. Studio installs can be booked outside class hours, including evenings and weekends, so the room is out of use for as little time as possible.
Usually 16 to 20 inches off the floor: high enough to clear baseboards, equipment and most dropped weights, low enough to show your feet in a squat. Yoga and Pilates rooms go lower.
Gym mirrors start from $28/sqft. The final price depends on area, panel count, cutouts, edge work, wall preparation and building logistics, and it is given as a written, itemized quote after the site measure.
