Custom Mirrors Milton: Vanity, LED & Gym Walls | Lux Glass

Custom Mirrors in Milton

Lux Glass cuts and installs custom mirrors in Milton for homeowners upgrading builder bathrooms, finishing basements, and fitting out bedrooms and home gyms — vanity mirrors cut to size, LED backlit mirrors, antique feature mirrors, full-wall mirrors, and closet and door mirrors. Most of our Milton mirror work is in the newer subdivisions such as Boyne, Bronte West, Cobban, and Willmott, plus the older houses of Old Milton. We are based next door in Oakville, and master glazier Bojan Stojic, with 18 years of experience, measures and installs every mirror himself. It is the Milton side of our custom mirror service.

Custom vanity mirror cut to size by Lux Glass — custom mirrors for Milton homes

Replacing the builder mirror over the vanity

A lot of the glass work in Milton’s newer subdivisions is replacing builder-grade originals that never matched what the homeowner wanted, and the stock mirror over the vanity is usually one of them. It stops short of the corners, crowds the light fixture, or looks small once a new vanity goes in. A mirror cut to size can run wall to wall, stop on a clean line below the light, or match the width of a double vanity in a single piece.

Mirrors we make for Milton homes

  • Vanity mirrors cut to size — single pieces for main baths and ensuites, sized to the wall or to the vanity below.
  • LED backlit mirrors — a soft glow from behind the glass, useful in ensuites that get little daylight.
  • Antique mirror — aged, smoked, or foxed finishes, made to size for a feature wall in a dining room or powder room.
  • Full-wall mirrors — floor-to-ceiling runs for basement gyms, garage conversions, and yoga or dance corners.
  • Closet and door mirrors — mirror panels for bedroom closets and doors, cut and edge-finished to fit the existing door or millwork.

Boyne and Cobban walls versus Old Milton walls

The newer streets in Boyne, Bronte West, Bronte Meadows, Cobban, Walker, and Willmott usually give us straight, predictable walls, so a vanity mirror there is mostly a sizing and finishing decision. Old Milton, the original town core west of Ontario Street, is a different brief. The heritage houses have smaller bathrooms, lower ceilings, and walls that are more often out of plumb. A large mirror copies whatever it is mounted on, so a bow in the wall shows up as a waver in the reflection. On older walls we check the surface for flatness before cutting, pack or shim the places where the wall dips, and size the piece so it reads square even when the room is not.

Edges, cutouts, and the finished look

The edge changes how a mirror reads. A polished flat edge is the clean, modern default and suits most Milton ensuites with a frameless shower or a slab-front vanity. A bevelled edge is ground at an angle around the border, so it catches the light and gives a more traditional look, which often fits an Old Milton renovation better. Where a mirror meets an outlet, a switch, or a wall sconce, we cut the opening into the glass so the mirror runs flush around it instead of stopping short. Every cutout is located from the template taken in your bathroom, not from a drawing.

Mirror walls for basement and garage gyms

When a Milton home gym goes into a finished basement or a converted garage, a mirror wall is what makes it usable for checking form. A long wall is built from several panels butted together with tight seams, so the reflection runs across with only a hairline between pieces. Each panel is sized to pass the stair turn or doorway it has to travel through. In a garage conversion the bottom edge has to stay clear of a sloping slab, so we set the starting height from the floor as it actually is. Any edge a hand can reach is polished smooth.

How a Milton mirror job runs

  1. Site measure. Bojan visits, measures the wall, checks it for flatness, and talks through size, edge, and any LED or cutout details.
  2. Written quote. You get a fixed, itemized price in writing before anything is ordered.
  3. Template. Once the vanity, backsplash, and electrical are in, the final size and every opening are templated on site.
  4. Fabricate. The mirror is cut to the template and the edges are finished.
  5. Install. A bottom channel or clips carry the weight, and solvent-free mirror mastic holds the face flat to the wall.

On a renovation we coordinate with the cabinet installer so the vanity is set before the final template, which is what lets the mirror land exactly on the line you want.

What a custom mirror costs in Milton

Custom mirrors start from $28/sqft, and that includes full-wall gym mirrors. The final price depends on the size of the piece, the edge finish, the number of cutouts, whether it is LED backlit or antique, and how easy the wall is to reach. After the site measure you get a written, itemized quote before HST, and that is the price you pay. Every install carries our 5-year warranty on labour and 5-year warranty on hardware.

Milton custom mirror FAQs

Can you replace the mirror the builder put in our Milton ensuite?

Yes. We remove the existing mirror, clean the wall behind it, and check that the surface is flat enough for a larger piece. The new mirror is then cut to the size you want and mounted on a channel or clips with mirror mastic, so it does not rely on the original adhesive.

Should the new mirror go in before or after the new vanity?

After. We template once the vanity and any backsplash are installed, because the mirror height and width are set from those finished surfaces. On a renovation we line up the date with your cabinet installer.

Can a backlit LED mirror go where the old mirror was?

Usually, but it needs power behind it. Your electrician brings a supply to the spot the mirror will cover, and we size the mirror and its mounting around that position. We confirm the location at the site measure before the mirror is ordered.

Our house is in Old Milton and the walls are not straight. Will a big mirror look wrong?

Not if the wall is dealt with first. We check the wall for flatness, pack or shim where it dips, and size the mirror so it reads square in the room. A bow left untreated shows as a waver in the reflection, so this step is part of every older-home job.

Can you put mirrors on our bedroom closet doors?

Yes. We cut mirror panels to fit closet and bedroom doors and finish the edges so nothing is sharp to the touch. Tell us the door type at the site measure so the panel and its fixing suit the door.

Is a polished or a bevelled edge better?

Neither is better; they look different. A polished flat edge reads clean and modern, while a bevel catches the light and reads more traditional. Choose the one that matches the rest of the room, especially the vanity, tile, and trim.

How is a mirror wall for a home gym priced?

The same way as any custom mirror: from $28/sqft, with the final figure set by the wall size, the number of panels, edge finishing, and access. You get a fixed written quote after the site measure.
