Storefront glass across Vaughan
We serve residential and commercial clients across Woodbridge and the rest of Vaughan. Commercial jobs range from a single replacement panel to a new frontage and entrance for a tenant fit-out. The work covers:
- aluminum-framed storefront glazing, including flush-glazed systems with thermally broken framing;
- glass entrance doors, swing or pivot, with commercial closers, locks and pulls;
- vestibules with a second set of doors to keep winter air out of the shop;
- replacement panels in tempered, laminated or insulated glass.
Boutique frontages in Old Woodbridge and Kleinburg Village
Market Lane and Old Woodbridge combine heritage-style renovations with boutique commercial glass. Kleinburg Village is the historic core of the Kleinburg corridor, where our work includes heritage renovations and interior glass partitions. A boutique frontage is the shop’s first impression, so proportion matters: slim framing, a clean entrance and glass that suits the building rather than fighting it. Older buildings also mean openings that may not be square, so we measure each one as built. If the landlord or the City of Vaughan has design requirements for the frontage, send them with the quote request and we will work to them.
Laminated, tempered and what happens when glass breaks
Security is usually the first question a store owner asks, and the answer depends on how each glass type breaks. Tempered safety glass to CAN/CGSB-12.1 is strong and breaks into small blunt pieces, so it is safe for people, but the opening is left empty. Laminated glass bonds the layers to an interlayer; when it is struck it cracks and stays in the frame, which keeps the store closed until the panel is replaced. For display windows that hold stock overnight, laminated is usually the better choice. Doors and sidelights are chosen to suit their hardware. Each option appears on its own line in the written quote.
Entrance doors that take daily traffic
The entrance door is the part of a storefront that works hardest. Every door we install is quoted with its closer, lock and pulls, and pivot or swing hardware is chosen to suit the size and weight of the glass. A vestibule adds a second set of doors inside the entrance, which holds heat in during the winter and stops the sales floor taking a draft every time a customer walks in. If your security company or landlord specifies the lock, we fit the door to that specification.
Landlords, property managers and certificates
A storefront belongs to the building shell, so the landlord or property manager is part of the job. Lux Glass is WSIB insured and carries $5,000,000 Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance, and we provide the certificates before the work starts. Engineer-stamped drawings are available upon request for an additional fee. We coordinate access with the building and can book the install for an evening or a weekend, so you do not have to close during business hours.
Signage and manifestation
Your storefront glass will likely carry your name, hours and logo, and clear doors and tall panels need a manifestation band or graphic at eye level so people see the glass. These decals go on after installation, usually by your sign company. We plan frame lines and door rails so they do not cut across the sign area, and we tell the sign maker which panels are laminated.
From site measure to installation
We start with a site measure of the opening, the frame and any existing glass. You then get a written, itemized quote. Storefronts have no standard price; each one is quoted in writing after a site measure, with glass type, framing, doors, hardware and any after-hours work on separate lines. Once you approve, we template the openings, fabricate the glass to size, and Bojan installs it, so the person who measured the job is the person who installs it. Lux Glass has 18 years of experience, in business since 2008 and incorporated as Lux Glass Inc. in 2014, and every installation carries a 5-year warranty on labour and 5-year warranty on hardware.
Vaughan storefront FAQs
Which parts of Vaughan do you cover?
All of it, including Woodbridge, Kleinburg, Maple, Concord, Thornhill and Vellore Village. We travel from our Oakville base for the site measure and the installation.
Can you replace just the door on our storefront?
Yes, if the frame around it is sound. We measure the opening, check the existing pivots or hinges and the closer, and quote a new glass door with matching hardware. If the frame needs work too, the quote will say so.
Do you work on older buildings in Old Woodbridge and Kleinburg Village?
Yes. In older buildings we measure each opening as it stands, check it for square and level, and template the glass to the real opening rather than to an old drawing.
What is manifestation, and does our storefront need it?
Manifestation is a visible band, pattern or graphic on clear glass so people do not walk into it. Clear glass doors and full-height panels should have it at eye level. It can be a simple frosted strip or part of your branding.
Can the installation be done before we open or after we close?
Yes. Evening and weekend installs can be arranged, subject to the building’s access rules. We confirm the time before the glass is fabricated.
Can you provide drawings for our landlord?
Yes. Engineer-stamped drawings are available upon request for an additional fee. Tell us at the quote stage if the landlord or the City of Vaughan will need them.
How is a Vaughan storefront priced?
Storefronts are quoted in writing after a site measure. The price depends on the size and number of panels, tempered or laminated glass, the framing, the doors and hardware, and whether the work happens after hours.
